A law firm in Springfield is seeking an Administrative Law/Litigation Associate Attorney. The candidate will be responsible for handling the demands and pace of litigation representing insurance companies and large public/private companies. The role involves taking depositions, conducting written discovery, performing legal research, and maintaining knowledge of current legal developments. The attorney will participate in trials, hearings, and conferences with judges throughout the state, and engage in marketing events to attract prospective clients. Preference will be given to attorneys with prior experience in Workers’ Compensation law. Duties:

  • Handle the demands and pace of litigation representing insurance companies and large public/private companies.
  • Take depositions of Plaintiffs, witnesses, experts, and other parties.
  • Conduct written discovery and perform legal research.
  • Maintain knowledge of current legal developments in case law and statutory changes to advise clients.
  • Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct trials, hearings, and conferences with judges throughout the state.
  • Participate in marketing events such as conferences with prospective clients.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Organize and manage caseload effectively.

 

Requirements:

  • A law degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Missouri.
  • Preference given to attorneys with prior experience in Workers’ Compensation law.
