Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Defense Attorney in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil litigation and the ability to manage complex cases independently. This role involves defending a variety of matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court, hearings, and mediations.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Develop case strategies and provide legal analysis.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation.
• Significant experience in construction litigation, insurance defense, or coverage matters.
• Strong leadership, client management, and case strategy skills.
• Trial experience preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington, DC.
