Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate attorney to join its Global Franchise and Distribution practice in Washington, DC. The role involves handling all aspects of franchising and distribution, including disputes, transactions, and regulatory compliance. Duties

  • Assist with franchise and distribution disputes, mediation, litigation, and arbitration.
  • Develop and structure franchise and distributor programs.
  • Assess and counsel on franchise contract and relationship issues.
  • Draft franchise disclosure documents and franchise agreements.
  • Litigate and negotiate supply contracts and other transactions.
  • Perform state registrations and manage international development and cross-border transactions.

Requirements

  • At least 2+ years of experience in franchise and distribution law.
  • Experience in international licensing or franchising is a plus.
  • High level of academic achievement and law firm experience.
  • Superb writing, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ambition, drive, and team-orientation to support national practice growth.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Active bar admission in the jurisdiction of intended practice.
