Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate Attorney in Irvine, California. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process. This role involves significant interaction with clients and court personnel, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.

Duties

  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and affidavits.
  • E-file court documents in state and federal courts.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and counsel.
  • Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
  • Prepare discovery documents and responses.
  • Coordinate and summarize depositions.
  • Prepare trial binders and exhibits.
  • Draft and file appellate documents.
  • Perform administrative duties such as calendaring and organizing case files.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, and evidence.
  • Assist with interrogatories and other discovery requests.
  • Liaise between trial teams and third parties.
  • Prepare witnesses and assist with case settlements.

Requirements

  • Associate and Juris Doctorate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of litigation experience preferred.
  • Experience in Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, or related practice areas preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Knowledge of motions, discovery, and litigation documentation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with Medical Malpractice Plaintiff Actions is a plus.
  • Federal Judicial Clerkship is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the state of California preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and documentation.
