Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior associate or counsel with at least six years of tax equity transactional experience to join their team in Seattle, WA. The role involves working directly with the leader of the energy tax team, providing ample opportunities for client contact and transaction management.

Duties

  • Engage in tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease, and sale-leaseback transactions.
  • Handle equipment safe harbor transactions and tax credit transfer transactions.
  • Provide counsel in substantive Federal tax credit matters and deliver written advice.
  • Collaborate with project finance practice, including corporate, debt, and securitization input.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of tax equity transactional experience at a national law firm.
  • Experience in sectors such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, and/or EV charging preferred.
  • Experience representing project developers and sponsors is ideal.
  • Investor-side lawyers interested in sponsor-side practice are encouraged to apply.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and client relationships effectively.
