Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated Patent Attorney specializing in Electrical Arts to join its Washington, DC office. The successful candidate will engage in drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, focusing on electrical engineering, computer science, and software-implemented business methods.

Duties

  • Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
  • Draft and review intellectual property and technology-related agreements and licenses.
  • Provide patentability, freedom to operate, and due diligence assessments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical arts.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task efficiently.
  • U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
  • Licensed to practice law in Washington, DC.

Education

  • Juris Doctor, higher degree, or equivalent in Law.
  • Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or related field.

Certifications

  • U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.
