Innovation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Innovation Attorney in Boston, MA. This role connects the firm's lawyers, clients, and Technology & Information Services Department to ensure technology systems meet the needs of practicing attorneys and clients. The position may offer a hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

• Stay informed on advancements in generative AI and emerging technologies.
• Provide updates and analysis of new technologies to firm management.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technologies in specific practices.
• Collaborate with management to recommend strategic technology deployments.
• Foster relationships with industry organizations and vendors.
• Assist with communications between lawyers and technology teams.
• Participate in technology-related working groups and committees.
• Deliver technology presentations and training to attorneys.
• Protect and maintain confidential and proprietary information.

Requirements

• Understanding of product development and management.
• Proficiency in enterprise PC applications like MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Knowledge of LegalTech product categories.

Education

• JD or equivalent, and admission to the relevant state bar.

Skills

• Experience as a practicing lawyer or in a legal operations role.
• Experience in a technology role preferred.

The Massachusetts law office was set up one year ago. There are eight areas of practice offered at this location. Disciplines include capital markets, emerging companies, mergers-acquisitions, private equity, public offerings, technology transactions, transactional tax and venture capital. Some of their practice industries served include biotechnology, clean tech, communications and internet-digital media. There are twenty-three skillful attorneys on staff.
