A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its growing government contracts practice in Washington, DC. The firm specializes in providing legal services to contractors and nonprofit organizations serving public missions. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of post-JD experience in government contracts litigation, including work on bid protests, contract claims, and prime-sub disputes. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on strategic legal solutions and advocacy for public sector clients.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in government contracts-related litigation, including:
    • Bid protests
    • Contract disputes and claims
    • Prime-subcontractor disagreements
    • Litigation under the Administrative Procedures Act (APA)
    • Federal District Court and Court of Federal Claims cases
  • Lead or support first- and second-chair litigation responsibilities, depending on experience.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to contractors and nonprofit organizations navigating government regulations and procurement processes.
  • Work on a variety of cases involving both federal and state regulations affecting public contracts.
  • Prepare legal briefs, motions, and other necessary documents for litigation.
  • Manage and lead client relationships, ensuring effective communication and client satisfaction throughout case developments.
  • Collaborate with a team of legal professionals to develop case strategies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years of post-JD experience in government contracts-related litigation.
  • Experience handling bid protests, contract claims, and prime-sub disputes.
  • Proven ability to litigate in Federal District Court and Court of Federal Claims.
  • Membership in good standing with the District of Columbia Bar or eligibility to be admitted to the DC Bar (if currently a member of another state bar).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to produce high-quality work product under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of cases, while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering results for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the District of Columbia Bar or eligible for admission to the DC Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with government contracts litigation, including regulatory compliance and procurement law.
  • Ability to manage complex legal matters and work under pressure.
