Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Innovation Attorney in Washington D.C., District of Columbia. This role involves advising lawyers, matter teams, clients, and practice groups in transactional law. The position focuses on aligning innovative legal technologies with legal workflows to optimize value, insights, efficiency, and productivity.

Duties

  • Partner with practice groups to develop strategies for optimizing legal service delivery through technology.
  • Replicate practice group successes by applying learned lessons across teams.
  • Configure legal technologies to meet practice group needs.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing technology solutions for clients and practice groups.
  • Serve as a liaison for clients on AI projects and collaborate on shared workflows.
  • Implement outreach initiatives to increase lawyer engagement with technologies.
  • Stay informed on legal industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Communicate with vendors to exchange information on products and services.
  • Protect and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet firm goals.

Requirements

  • JD or equivalent, and admission to the relevant state bar.
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a practicing lawyer or in a legal operations role.
  • Experience with strategic application of technology in transactional law.
  • Proficiency with legal technology and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in evaluating and implementing legal tech solutions preferred.
  • Knowledge of transactional legal matter lifecycle preferred.
  • Familiarity with techniques for increasing adoption of legal tech tools.
  • Experience in business analysis, solution design, or client-facing roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective team player in diverse environments.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.

Education

  • JD or equivalent.

Certifications

  • Admission to the relevant state bar.
