Job Overview

A law firm seeks a General Liability Defense Associate Attorney to join its Orlando, FL office. This role involves handling and litigating matters throughout Florida, focusing on auto and truck accident claims, premises liability, wrongful death, negligent security, and general commercial litigation.

Duties

  • Manage own caseload and deadlines
  • Work directly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses
  • Perform legal analysis and develop case strategies
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery
  • Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations
  • Conduct site inspections and accident scene investigations
  • Assist in accident reconstruction and emergency response investigations
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Assist with trial and post-trial requirements

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in General Liability Defense or related areas
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Strong skills in writing, analysis, research, and negotiation
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Good standing with the Florida Bar

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida

Skills

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Trial experience is a plus
