Job Overview:
A highly respected regional law firm is seeking an associate to join its Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Practice Area. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience in complex bankruptcy matters or judicial clerkship experience. This position involves handling intricate bankruptcy cases, restructurings, and creditors' rights matters, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth.

Location:

  • New Haven, CT

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors' rights cases.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
  • Advise clients on bankruptcy strategy, corporate restructuring, and creditor negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned advice on bankruptcy-related matters.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
  • Manage client relationships and keep clients updated on case developments.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop strategies and solutions for complex matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in bankruptcy law or judicial clerkship experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York State or Connecticut.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience handling complex bankruptcy and creditors' rights cases.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New York State or Connecticut.

Skills:
