Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Innovation Counsel to join their Practice Innovation team in Chicago. This role involves advancing practice-specific initiatives to maximize the value of innovation technologies and practices, collaborating with various teams to drive best practices and introduce new tools and processes.

Duties

  • Support legal technology adoption initiatives impacting practice groups.
  • Design playbooks for best practices in innovation technologies.
  • Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings.
  • Collaborate on initiative prioritization and evangelize its value.
  • Develop objectives and success metrics for technology adoption.
  • Analyze workflows to improve efficiency with legal technologies.
  • Drive legal technology pilots and continuous improvements.
  • Assist in developing communication campaigns and change measurement processes.
  • Maintain practice group-specific resources and automate efforts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of applicable experience in legal practice or technology adoption.
  • Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status.
  • Experience in cross-functional projects involving legal technology.
  • Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate or non-US equivalent.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing of the bar(s) in relevant jurisdictions.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and firm applications.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with technology usage data and metrics.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
