Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Atlanta, GA, to manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution. Duties

  • Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Regularly represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and stakeholders to deliver strategic legal advice.
  • Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state posted; additional bar admissions a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in practice group.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor with strong client-relations and communication skills.
  • Must be responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state posted.
