Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law & Personal Injury Attorney in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will advocate for families in transition and represent clients in personal injury claims, managing a varied caseload and developing litigation skills across multiple practice areas.

Duties

  • Represent clients in divorce, child custody, and support matters.
  • Draft and file family law pleadings and motions.
  • Conduct client consultations and strategy sessions.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Handle personal injury cases, including car accidents and premises liability.
  • Draft demand packages and legal briefs.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel.
  • Manage a diverse and high-volume caseload.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing in IL (TX, KS, MO a plus).
  • 1-3 years of experience in family law and/or personal injury.
  • Proven litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed and in good standing in IL (TX, KS, MO a plus).
