Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical or mechanical engineering and a strong foundation in patent prosecution and litigation. This role involves working with a diverse client base on a national and international level.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Collaborate with clients on intellectual property strategies.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Support litigation efforts as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Experience with thermodynamics, electro-mechanical products, and/or HVAC systems.
• Registered with the USPTO.
• Knowledge of other intellectual property forms is a plus.

Education

• Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Certifications

• USPTO registration.
