Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Land Use Associate in Seattle, WA, to represent local, regional, and national clients in support of their development projects and transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience with general land use, real estate, and municipal law.

Duties

  • Work with multiple partners and manage responsibilities for different transactions.
  • Conduct land use due diligence and permitting, assessing options for new projects and site redevelopment.
  • Write due diligence and client advice memos.
  • Communicate strategically with local government planners and officials.
  • Research and draft memoranda on land use regulations and their impacts.
  • Draft covenants, easements, and agreements for land use and development.
  • Operate in a high-demand, fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Engage professionally in-person, virtually, and through email and phone.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited institutions.
  • Current WSBA membership.
  • At least three years of Pacific Northwest land use experience.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated with strategic and thoughtful approach.
  • Attention to detail and strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Interest and ability to learn quickly.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.
  • JD degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Current WSBA membership.
