Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Land Use Attorney in Seattle, WA. The successful candidate will work with sophisticated clients and assist in transitioning long-standing relationships from senior partners. Collaboration is key, and while an existing book of business is welcome, it is not required.

Duties

  • Appear before hearing examiners, planning commissions, and courts.
  • Draft and supervise the drafting of legal briefs.
  • Conduct land use due diligence and permitting.
  • Write due diligence and client advice memos.
  • Communicate strategically with local government officials.
  • Draft and amend code provisions for cities and counties.
  • Maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Engage professionally in-person, virtually, and via email.
  • Supervise junior attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited institutions.
  • Current WSBA membership.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a land use attorney in the Pacific Northwest.

Certifications

  • WSBA membership.

  • Solid understanding of legal and land use concepts.
