Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients regarding ongoing family law litigation and explain legal issues they may face.
  • Research case facts, including financial records, evaluations, expert reports, and relevant case law.
  • Develop case strategies, emphasizing cost-effective and timely resolutions over prolonged litigation.
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, exhibits, balance sheets, support calculations, and prenuptial agreements.
  • Represent clients in court by presenting evidence, arguments, and testimony to assert clients' rights and best interests.
  • Mentor less experienced attorneys and delegate tasks to the support team.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and independently to manage client cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of family law practice and procedure in Illinois counties such as Cook, DuPage, Lake, and McHenry.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with family law cases, including divorce, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and post-judgment matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois (active and in good standing).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of family law and related legal procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and apply case law and court decisions to client cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client relations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong mentoring and team collaboration skills.
