Job Overview
A law firm seeks an International Trade Counsel in Washington, D.C. The position involves joining a comprehensive international trade practice, with opportunities for experienced candidates possessing relevant credentials.

Duties

  • Provide counsel on customs matters, including ruling requests and audit defense.
  • Advise on tariff classification, valuation, and free trade agreements.
  • Handle export control and sanctions matters, including compliance counseling and enforcement defense.
  • Engage in CFIUS and national security regulatory matters.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in customs matters and trade remedies.
  • Experience advising on tariffs under IEEPA, Section 232, and Section 301.
  • Strong verbal, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Excellent academic credentials required.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in international trade law preferred.

Skills

  • Proficiency in handling export control and sanctions matters.
  • Ability to manage complex regulatory issues.
