Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mass Tort Litigation Associate Attorney in New York City, NY. This role involves handling complex mass tort and product liability cases, working closely with lead trial lawyers to develop case strategies and gather evidence for trial. The position offers an opportunity to engage in high-profile national litigation, including Rideshare sexual assault and Paraquat cases, with mentorship from experienced litigators.

Duties

  • Navigate all phases of mass tort litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Lead discovery efforts, including document identification and witness depositions.
  • Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions.
  • Draft critical litigation documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses for depositions and trials.
  • Participate in trial preparation and assist in courtroom trial work.
  • Manage complex legal matters independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 6+ years of litigation experience preferred; motivated candidates considered.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Passion for trial work and initiative in case management.
  • Experience with complex civil or commercial litigation is a plus.
  • Clerkship experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
