Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level energy transactions associate in Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will join the energy development practice group, focusing on complex renewable energy transactions, including project development and various service contracts. Opportunities are available in multiple locations, including Portland, Minneapolis, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC.

Duties

  • Draft EPC, BOP, equipment supply, O&M, and LTSA agreements with a focus on risk allocation and performance.
  • Facilitate the full life cycle of development and construction transactions across multiple matters.
  • Coordinate and execute multidisciplinary due diligence for financings and purchase/sale transactions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy-focused project development transactions.
  • Experience drafting renewable energy project development agreements.
  • Experience conducting due diligence for financings and purchase/sale transactions.
  • Understanding of international trade restraints and their impact on project development.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in business development and engagement in civic and professional organizations.

Education

  • JD from an accredited university.

Certifications

  • Active membership or commitment to applying for the California, District of Columbia, Minnesota, Oregon, or Washington state bars.

Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully within a team.
  • Business and professional judgment.
