Patent Agent (Chemistry)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent with at least 2 years of experience to join its patent prosecution practice in Philadelphia, PA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or a related field and will support patent application processes both domestically and internationally.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and international patent offices.
• Support due diligence activities related to patent matters.
• Manage multiple assignments from various partners and clients.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in patent prosecution.
• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Patent Bar eligible and, if applicable, licensed to practice law in the respective state.
• Strong time management and deadline management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Master's Degree or Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, polymer science, polymer engineering, biochemistry, or a related field.

Certifications

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
