Job Overview

A law firm seeks an ambitious mid- to senior-level attorney with at least 5 years of experience to join their Environment and Energy Practice and Insurance Recovery Teams in Rochester, New York. The role involves working with sophisticated clients across various industries, providing legal counsel on environmental issues and representing clients in legal proceedings.

Duties

  • Advise clients on environmental regulatory matters, including NEPA, CWA, CAA, ESA, and RCRA.
  • Engage in transactional, claims, and remediation/contamination-related legal work.
  • Represent clients before Congress, federal and state agencies, and in court.
  • Maintain strong communication and advocacy with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • New York bar license required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills

  • Proficiency in environmental regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent legal writing and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to engage in direct client contact and manage client relationships.
