Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for criminal defense work and be motivated, detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and communication skills. The attorney will represent clients in various criminal matters, including drug offenses, DUI and traffic offenses, sex crimes, assault and battery, homicide, domestic violence, and property crimes.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in criminal matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Negotiate plea agreements with prosecuting attorneys.
  • Prepare and present cases in court.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to clients.
  • Collaborate with support staff, investigators, and other attorneys in the firm.
  • Participate in case management meetings and other firm-related activities.
  • Keep abreast of legal developments and changes in the law.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
  • 2-5 years of experience in criminal defense work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
