Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level litigation attorney in Oakland, CA, to support its municipal and public law litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to engage with complex legal issues affecting public agencies, including class action defense and administrative hearings.

Duties

• Conduct research and draft legal documents for motion practice and hearings.
• Engage in class action defense and writ and mandamus proceedings.
• Participate in administrative hearings and public contracting disputes.
• Advise on municipal revenue issues, including the Mitigation Fee Act and Propositions 218 and 26.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of litigation experience preferred, flexible based on fit.
• Strong research and writing skills with a creative and critical approach to legal questions.
• California Bar admission required.
• Ability to appear in person when case needs require.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the California State Bar.
