Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney for its Irvine, CA office. The firm offers in-person, hybrid, and remote positions, providing excellent mentorship to develop successful trial attorneys.

Duties

• Manage all phases of civil litigation cases, from initial client consultation through trial and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case strategies.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests with precision and clarity.
• Develop case strategies by analyzing facts, evidence, and applicable laws across various practice areas.
• Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable results for clients while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and advise on legal options.
• Maintain meticulous case files and documentation in accordance with firm policies and legal standards.

Requirements

• Active member in good standing with the CA Bar.
• Prior insurance defense experience preferred but not required.
• Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, and a variety of motions.
• Excellent knowledge of online legal research, such as Westlaw.
• Ability to produce excellent work product with strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Driven, self-starter, and able to independently manage a caseload.
• Ability to work well under strict deadlines and multitask effectively.
• Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California Bar membership.
