Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in Real Estate Litigation in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling disputes in Housing Court and Supreme Court, with a proven ability to manage complex litigation matters. This role offers an opportunity to work with sophisticated clients and develop long-term client relationships.

Duties

  • Research and draft legal documents, including notices, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Handle complex commercial and residential real estate litigation.
  • Represent clients in Housing Court and Supreme Court.
  • Attend court appearances, depositions, and conduct trials.
  • Participate in marketing activities and draft publications.
  • Adhere to firm policies and perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High degree of academic achievement with a law degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active New York State Bar license in good standing.
  • 2 - 5 years of Landlord/Tenant litigation experience.
  • Experience in Housing Court and Supreme Court required.
  • Appellate exposure or experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to tackle all assigned tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accept a background check and authorized to work in the United States.

Education

  • Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications

  • Active New York State Bar license.
