A law firm is actively seeking a driven and experienced litigation associate to join its dynamic team advocating for workers' rights. The role centers on group-based legal disputes involving pay equity and statutory labor protections, with an emphasis on impactful legal actions brought on behalf of groups of employees. The environment is collaborative, mission-driven, and offers flexibility for remote work arrangements. Attorneys with a deep sense of justice and commitment to systemic change are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in legal actions concerning workplace pay violations, including collective and representative litigation.

  • Manage all phases of complex multiparty litigation, including strategy development, discovery, depositions, and motion practice.

  • Draft legal briefs, pleadings, and correspondence in wage-related litigation involving multiple plaintiffs or claimants.

  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and, when necessary, trial proceedings.

  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys focused on labor rights and community advocacy.

  • Analyze wage records, employment contracts, and timekeeping data to support case development.

  • Advocate for clients in actions related to statutory employment violations under state and federal law.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 to 8 years of hands-on litigation experience, ideally with a focus on employee-focused legal claims or large-scale employment disputes.

  • Demonstrated experience handling procedural aspects of coordinated or class proceedings.

  • Familiarity with relevant wage laws, employment statutes, and group redress mechanisms.

  • Comfortable in a high-pace, high-impact work setting with varied case types and shifting priorities.

  • Ability to take ownership of cases and work independently while collaborating with a broader legal team.

Educational Background & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission in good standing to the State Bar of California (or eligibility for admission by waiver or reciprocity).

  • Continuing legal education in labor/employment law or litigation procedure is a plus.

Desired Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail.

  • A passion for advancing workplace fairness and a strong sense of ethical responsibility.

  • Capable of building client trust and navigating sensitive employee-related matters.

  • Eagerness to work in a socially conscious legal environment with no billable hour pressure.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Employer contributions to health and dental insurance plans.

  • 401(k) retirement plan with firm-supported contributions.

  • Short and long-term disability coverage.

  • Flexible work options, including the possibility of working remotely depending on experience and case needs.
