Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Construction Law and General Litigation practice group in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The ideal candidate will be in good standing with the South Carolina Bar, possess strong academic credentials, and demonstrate exceptional research and writing skills. They should be capable of working independently and handling a diverse caseload.

Duties

• Defend construction defect matters for developers, builders, subcontractors, and related parties.
• Draft and argue motions, including dispositive motions when appropriate.
• Manage written discovery, meet and confer strategy, and case deadlines.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and support trial preparation when needed.
• Coordinate with experts and manage expert discovery.
• Support mediations and settlement strategy, communicate clearly with clients and carriers.

Requirements

• Active South Carolina Bar license.
• 1+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal writing, organization, and deadline management skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
