Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Commercial Litigation Associate in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and will manage complex disputes across various industries. This role involves working closely with partners and clients to drive case strategy and execution.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through trial or settlement.
• Draft and argue motions in court.
• Prepare pleadings, dispositive motions, and legal briefings.
• Conduct legal research and analyze evidence.
• Oversee discovery phases, including e-discovery and document production.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses and expert testimony.
• Draft subpoenas, affidavits, and pretrial documents.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in resolution strategies.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Active New York Bar membership in good standing.
• Experience in New York state and federal courts preferred.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Strong presentation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and client management skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active New York Bar membership.
