Job OverviewA law firm seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Labor Law attorney in Rocky Hill, CT, and White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation, including at least 2 years handling New York State Labor Law claims, and exposure to insurance coverage disputes.DutiesManage an assigned litigation caseload independently and with supervision, as appropriate.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and other litigation-related filings.Handle depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.Represent clients in insurance defense and New York Labor Law matters, including claims under Labor Law 200, 240, and 241(6).Maintain strong client relationships through responsiveness and adherence to client guidelines.Manage deadlines and ensure all procedural and court requirements are met.Accurately record and maintain billable hours.RequirementsAdmission to practice in the State of New York is required (Admission to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and/or Connecticut is a plus).2-5 years of experience in defense litigation.At least 2 years of experience handling New York State Labor Law litigation, including familiarity with the Industrial Code Rules.Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills, with a commitment to producing high-quality, error-free work.Federal Court experience is a plus.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the New York State Bar.SkillsStrong and professional communication skills.Polished writing style.Ability to independently manage assignments from inception through completion.BenefitsComprehensive benefits package, including health, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance.401(k) plan.Flexible work options.Paid time off.
