Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Wilmington, Delaware office. The firm specializes in complex civil litigation, handling a diverse range of general, commercial, and corporate litigation matters. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services efficiently and strategically.

Duties

  • Handle local and national litigation matters throughout Delaware.
  • Independently manage litigation caseloads from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct depositions of fact, party, expert, and corporate representatives.
  • Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and perform detailed discovery analysis.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation filings.
  • Engage in motion practice, including dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
  • Assist with trial preparation, arbitration, mediation, and hearings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely time records in accordance with firm guidelines.

Requirements

  • Experience in general, commercial, and/or corporate litigation.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to practice law in Delaware (required).
  • Experience with motion practice and depositions.
  • Preferred experience in leading plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Superior legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues.
  • Professional judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active admission to practice law in Delaware.
