Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Managed Healthcare and Commercial Litigation Associate in Los Angeles, California. This role offers attorneys the chance to advance their careers in business and consumer litigation for managed healthcare clients, including physician groups and health plans, in complex litigation and regulatory matters. Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload as part of a team.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the state of California.
• 3+ years of litigation experience, with a mix of commercial and/or healthcare defense preferred.
• Some background in managed care, insurance defense, or healthcare litigation preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations preferred.
• Experience with arbitration and alternative dispute resolution preferred.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required.
• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred.
• Experience handling court appearances, depositions.
• Trial experience a plus.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in California.
