Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Law and Motion Associate Attorney for its Glendale, California office. The role involves representing employees in labor and employment matters, focusing on wage and hour class/PAGA actions and single-plaintiff employment lawsuits. This position offers an in-person/hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

  • Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and pleadings.
  • Attend hearings and argue motions in court/arbitration.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Assist in client meetings.
  • Manage caseloads and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in law and motion briefing and argument preferred.
  • Experience in employment law, wage & hour, and class/PAGA actions is a plus.
  • Superior oral advocacy skills and confidence.
  • Great analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, honesty, dependability, and computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar license, with no disciplinary history.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Email/Calendar, Adobe Acrobat, Apple Operating System, and other litigation software.
