Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly qualified Patent Associate to join its Biotechnology team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have experience in life sciences-related patent and intellectual property work, including counseling, due diligence, and patent preparation and prosecution.

Duties

  • Provide counseling and due diligence in life sciences patent matters.
  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications.
  • Draft and negotiate intellectual property agreements.
  • Engage in interparty matters as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in life sciences patent and IP work.
  • Active Bar admission in Georgia, New York, or Pennsylvania.
  • Registration with the USPTO.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Graduate degree in molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or related area required.
  • Ph.D. preferred.

Certifications

  • USPTO registration.

Skills

  • Proficiency in patent preparation and prosecution.
  • Ability to draft and negotiate IP agreements.
  • Experience in interparty matters is desirable.
