Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney for its litigation team in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves handling insurance defense, municipal litigation, and commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage discovery, hearings, and client communications effectively.

Duties

  • Conduct research on case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents to support litigation strategy.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and persuasive arguments.
  • Prepare and respond to interrogatories, disclosures, depositions, and document production.
  • Attend hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials; assist in trial preparation.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, agencies, courts, and opposing counsel.
  • Provide updates and advise clients on legal rights and case strategy.
  • Analyze case law, statutes, and facts to support strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Arizona, in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of litigation experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge in insurance defense, municipal litigation, and commercial litigation preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Arizona.
