Job Overview

A well-regarded California law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group. This role is suited for an experienced litigator capable of independently managing cases from inception through resolution. The attorney will support a mix of governmental and private clients and will benefit from a collaborative, mentorship-driven work environment with flexible hybrid work options and a low billable hour requirement.

Location

  • San Diego, CA

Duties

  • Develop and implement litigation strategies, including risk assessments and trial preparation

  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motions

  • Provide ongoing counsel and case updates to public and private sector clients

  • Participate in settlement negotiations and represent clients in court proceedings

  • Work with expert witnesses (medical, forensic, engineering, economic) to support case theories

  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex case matters and legal strategy

Requirements

  • 2–7 years of litigation experience

  • Background in public agency representation preferred but not required

  • Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision

  • Experience handling cases from inception to resolution

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California

Skills

  • Exceptional oral advocacy and negotiation skills

  • Strong legal writing and research capabilities

  • Client-focused communication and relationship management

  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools and case management software

  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
