Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Consumer Protection Attorney for their Washington, D.C. office. This role involves joining a dynamic team focused on high-impact cases that protect consumers from unfair financial practices. The position offers a hybrid work environment with the expectation of being in the office 2-3 times per week.

Duties

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for litigation.
  • Participate in all phases of discovery, including document review and depositions.
  • Engage in class certification discovery and briefing.
  • Collaborate with experts and conduct trials.
  • Identify and investigate new litigation opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Washington, D.C. or ability to waive in promptly.
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least 5 years focused on litigation.
  • Experience with class action litigation is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection laws is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Washington, D.C. or ability to waive in promptly.
