Job Overview

A law firm seeks a seasoned Environmental Attorney to join their Environmental and Water Practice Group in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in regulatory and contested case hearings. This role offers flexibility, with options for full-time or part-time engagement, and potential for partnership track based on the candidate's book of business.

Duties

  • Counsel clients on federal and state environmental laws.
  • Advise on air, water, and waste permit procurement; represent clients in permit applications.
  • Negotiate water and wastewater agreements for developers.
  • Represent clients in water and wastewater CCN matters before the PUC.
  • Advise on regulatory and internal investigations; represent clients in enforcement cases.

Requirements

  • Seven-plus years of relevant legal experience.
  • Significant experience in regulatory and contested case hearings.
  • Portable book of business preferred for full-time consideration.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
