Consumer Finance Associate

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Consumer Finance Associate to join its Financial Regulatory practice in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of relevant experience counseling financial institutions and technology providers on federal and state financial laws and regulations.

Duties

• Counsel banks, credit unions, and FinTechs on financial laws and regulations.
• Conduct financial regulatory and state licensing analyses.
• Draft and negotiate contracts and lending documents.
• Advise clients on compliance with federal and state financial regulations.
• Assist with regulatory enforcement investigations and actions.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in financial regulatory practice.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to client service and effective teamwork.
• Strong academic credentials.

Education

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice.
• Timely admission to the Bar of the state where the hiring office is located.

Skills

• Experience with financial regulatory and state licensing analyses.
• Ability to draft and negotiate contracts and lending documents.
• Experience advising on compliance with financial regulations.
