Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Environmental Group in Lancaster, PA. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in energy law, eager to work on complex matters within a collaborative team. The position offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional legal services and build lasting client relationships in the evolving energy sector.

Duties

  • Manage assigned cases from start to finish, developing strategies for successful outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and provide informed advice.
  • Draft, review, and finalize contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case progress.
  • Represent clients effectively in negotiations to achieve favorable resolutions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues across practice areas.
  • Uphold professional conduct and adhere to state bar requirements.
  • Assist in financial management of cases, including setting retainers and managing payments.
  • Stay current with legal developments and complete required Continuing Legal Education (CLE).

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar or eligibility to waive in.
  • At least 3 years of experience in energy law, including regulatory and utility matters.
  • Litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and detail-oriented professional.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility to waive in).
