Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Energy Regulatory Senior Associate/Associate in Washington. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in transactional or litigation matters within the energy, utility, or pipeline sectors. This role involves working with federal agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and state agencies.

Duties

  • Prosecute administrative litigation and secure regulatory approvals.
  • Defend audit and enforcement actions for natural gas and liquid pipeline clients.
  • Negotiate purchase power and electric trading agreements.
  • Draft agreements for oil and gas infrastructure use.
  • Provide regulatory compliance counseling and support for mergers and acquisitions.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in energy, utility, or pipeline sectors.
  • Experience with administrative litigation and client counseling before federal or state agencies.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
