Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Energy and Climate Solutions Associate in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will focus on transactional work within the energy sector, engaging in project development and commercial transactions.

Duties

  • Analyze and draft key project development contracts, including power purchase agreements.
  • Work on framework commercial agreements and joint venture transactions.
  • Serve as the primary associate on project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing support.
  • Utilize and adapt commercial structures for various energy projects.
  • Engage in daily direct contact with clients, partners, and counterparty counsel.

Requirements

  • 3rd to 7th year associate with a focus on transactional work in the energy sector.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Desire to master structuring and negotiating energy project development transactions.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Proficiency in drafting and analyzing project development contracts.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions and client relationships.
  • Adaptability in using various commercial structures for energy projects.
