Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Private Client and Family Office practice in New York, NY. This role involves working on sophisticated domestic and international planning matters for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held businesses, with a focus on complex trust structures and income tax planning.

Duties

• Advise ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices on estate, gift, and income tax planning.
• Draft and implement complex estate planning structures, including various trusts.
• Structure and advise on tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.
• Provide counsel on individual and fiduciary income tax matters.
• Collaborate with family offices and advisors on integrated planning solutions.
• Serve as an outside general counsel for family offices, coordinating legal needs.
• Support trust and estate administration, advising on fiduciary duties and tax reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Must be barred in New York.
• Previous or current employment with an Am Law 100 firm is preferred.
