Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Healthcare Regulatory Associate in Palo Alto. This role offers the opportunity to work on health innovation, representing companies from pre-formation to capital markets, including public health tech companies.

Duties

  • Advise on healthcare regulatory issues, including corporate practice of medicine and state law considerations.
  • Handle federal, commercial, and self-insured payor reimbursement matters.
  • Address value-based care and accountable care organizations.
  • Navigate fraud and abuse laws, including Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark law.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state health privacy laws.
  • Manage federal and state laws on health data exchange and interoperability.
  • Advise on state healthcare transaction notification laws and Knox-Keene.
  • Consult on state laws related to AI in healthcare.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare law.
  • Strong interest in technology use in healthcare, including AI and telehealth.
  • Experience in several specified regulatory areas.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Superior organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good judgment.
  • Client service-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel periodically.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
