Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Louisville, KY, to represent clients in complex litigation matters. The role involves managing cases through all phases of litigation and appeals, working closely with clients, colleagues, and courts to navigate legal issues with professionalism and care.

Duties

  • Represent clients in municipal, state, and federal courts.
  • Prepare and present oral arguments and exhibits in court.
  • Oversee legal assistants and paralegals in case management.
  • Handle discovery and all phases of litigation for contested cases.
  • Manage appellate cases, including research and brief writing.
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on legal rights and obligations.
  • Interpret laws and regulations relevant to assigned cases.
  • Draft and review legal documents and templates.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on legal proceedings.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Admission to the Bar in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Notary Public preferred.
  • Experience as a law clerk or intern preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a large portfolio of cases.
  • Proficiency with MS Office products.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar.
  • Notary Public preferred.
