Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Corporate Bankruptcy Attorney in Irvine, CA. The role involves representing the firm and its clients in bankruptcy and adversarial litigation matters across California.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee the bankruptcy department, ensuring timely handling of files.
  • Assist staff with client scorecards and escalated issues.
  • Review and execute various bankruptcy-related notices and claims.
  • Perform payment reconciliation for Pre- and Post-Petition payments.
  • Send Notice of Default Letters for non-compliance with orders.
  • Answer inbound bankruptcy calls and update internal systems.
  • Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and attend court hearings.
  • Prepare motions and pleadings for secured creditors in bankruptcy matters.
  • Manage documents in contested hourly matters and other motions.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Word/Microsoft Office Suite and legal systems like Pacer and Westlaw.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of corporate structure and handle competing demands.
  • Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, and attendance.
  • Professional behavior, teamwork, punctuality, and adherence to policies.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in the state of California.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research skills using legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficient in software tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
