Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Georgia. The firm represents financially distressed individuals facing collection actions and creditor harassment. This full-time position involves managing a high-volume consumer case load.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and analysis on various litigation matters.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Assist with case management and organization.
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies.
• Review and analyze legal documents and contracts.
• Conduct factual investigations to gather evidence for cases.
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
• 2+ years of litigation experience preferred, especially in defense.
• Experience in Debt Settlement, Bankruptcy, FDCPA, and/or other consumer civil litigation is preferred.
• Multiple active state bar licenses are advantageous.
• Residing in Georgia is preferred.

Skills

• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Proficient in legal drafting and document preparation.
• Familiarity with Westlaw for legal research purposes.
• Ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients.
• Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices, including Lodestar billing.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
