Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for a fully remote position. The role involves engaging in complex litigation matters, including product liability, across various jurisdictions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver strategic legal solutions.

Duties

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and litigation documents.
  • Manage discovery processes and respond to written discovery.
  • Develop case strategies and trial themes with mentorship.
  • Research and analyze applicable case law and statutes.
  • Prepare witnesses for testimony in litigation and regulatory proceedings.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Argue motions and participate in court appearances.
  • Draft pretrial reports and assist with case evaluations.
  • Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and hearings.
  • Assist with settlement negotiations and client communications.
  • Collaborate with and supervise paralegals and support staff.
  • Support senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
  • Engage in business development and networking opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice in Connecticut required; additional licenses a plus.
  • 0-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in relevant fields.
  • Experience in a billable-hour law firm environment preferred.
  • Strong client-service orientation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with document management systems is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice in Connecticut required.
