Job Overview
A law firm seeks a highly motivated Counsel candidate to join its Finance, Bankruptcy, and Restructuring Practice Group in Greensboro, NC. The role involves working within the Financial Services Team, focusing on local counsel opinions in commercial lending.

Duties

  • Lead the coordination, preparation, review, and management of local counsel opinions.
  • Analyze opinion requests and ensure conformity to lender expectations and firm standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for referring counsel, resolving inconsistencies, and negotiating opinion language.
  • Partner with deal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of opinions.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of opinion practice and enforceability concepts.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and best practices.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in equipment finance, asset-based lending, or commercial finance.
  • Experience with commercial lending local counsel opinions; real estate opinion experience preferred.
  • Excellent judgment and meticulous legal analysis skills.
  • Ability to manage complex workflows and support multiple transactions.
  • Strong communication skills across offices and jurisdictions.
  • Admitted to practice, or eligible for admission, in the jurisdiction of the office location.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
